things found in the car I've driven the last three...
a copy of a book we just replaced this summer because we thought it was lost a Twizzler, particularly mysterious because neither of us eat Twizzlers a broken badminton racquet three pairs of climbing shoes, two bags of chalk a popcorn popper And, of course, Bonnie’s weight in Bonnie hair, but this, sadly, is no surprise. Here’s hoping we can keep the Matrix a bit tidier.

I wonder if we’ll ever be able to see this here, but Tomorrow When the War Began was a big part of my teenage years, and also a story line I kept recalling throughout Mockingjay for both its violence and realistic portrayal of psychological repercussions.

Also, to go with the slightly ambitious amounts of hummus I concocted earlier this week. The jury’s still out, but I think Mockingjay may be my favorite of the three.

before bed
Me: You better help make the bed or I'm giving you one of the unicorn pillowcases.
Husband: Augh, no!
Me: They're not that bad, really! I mean, they're kind of, you know, ironic, right?
Husband: They can only be ironic if you haven't had them continuously since you were six.

A girl turned too quickly down the aisle at the grocery store today and caught me singing to “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.” Awesome. At least she didn’t see my take on Abba’s “Fernando,” over in the produce section.

Apropos of the pig roast at Colleen’s yesterday and the resulting discussion about looking your food in the face. I drew upon our experiences with our own rooster that were not unlike the author’s, although I must admit that I shirked in the bedroom when Henry met his end at the hands of John and our housekeeper, Enid. At least the author, and Colleen, didn’t, as our friend the...

Lumpy Bonnie is lurking around the house like Quasimodo after her $43 IV bag this afternoon. Serves her right for getting sick on a Friday and forcing us to take her back to the vet. Brownies are baking in the oven, though, and it’s a beautiful day for a pig roast, so I might just be able to forgive and forget, provided the right songs come on my iTunes to shimmy around the kitchen to.

– “The new colonialism of ‘Eat, Pray, Love’” I didn’t agree with all of this piece, and really couldn’t judge a lot of it, not having seen/read EPL, but I thought this bit was pretty serious. In the past, I’ve felt like hoping for a change in perspective...

Was listening to someone else’s iTunes through sharing and that someone, whoever and wherever she was, decided to go home at 5 like a proper human being. Alas. At least it’s my last shift.
