My parents’ cat, Clyde, after years of enduring cruel nicknames like “Fats,” has finally developed diabetes. Now my mom has to figure out whether she can get pills and shots into him, if diet will fix the problem, and if it’s all worth it.
I remember our financial and ethical struggles when the Bonster kept getting sick, and my in-laws’ indecision when J’s old childhood dog was suffering. Being a pet owner can be hard, y’all.
