Uganda—On a lodge terrace in Queen Elizabeth National Park, a photographer’s butter and roll prove irresistible to the local lunchtime crowd. East Africa is home to many species of weaverbirds, known for their skill in building nests.Wonderful.
I saw this photo on my dash, and thought: I bet those are African, and hoped they were Ugandan. Better than that, we’ve been to QENP. It was the first sign we’d been in Africa for awhile, how strange it felt to see this beautiful/alien illuminated building looming out of African twilight. But boy was it lovely to share a couple of meals with the weaverbirds.
