I haven’t missed an episode since it premiered earlier this summer, but I am still not entirely sold on the new Amy Sherman-Palladino offering, Bunheads.  In general, I like it.  I enjoy the Gilmore Girl-esque banter, cultural references and often dry sense of humor. The two main characters have an interesting chemistry, and the supporting actresses/budding ballerinas are all slowly developing their own quirky characters.  And yet it sometimes edges into feeling like maybe it is trying too hard. (If a show can do that.) Or it feels oddly flat, but only in places, with the rest of an episode remaining more satisfying. I want to like it. I’d like to enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the seven year run of GG, but so far it is just not quite there yet.  Here’s hoping it picks up steam and becomes all it promises to be! I’d really like that!

Agreed. The pilot is still my favorite, which has never happened before, ever. I don’t think the parts for the teen girls are written very convincingly, for one thing, unlike Lane and Rory. Also, the dancing was always going to be a tough sell for me. But I like Paradise, CA, almost as much as Stars Hollow, CT. So there’s that.
