HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SISTER!

I luckily bought your birthday present before Pip made his early arrival, but did not mail it before that, so you can have it at Christmas.

I hope a snuggly nephew helps make up for my tardiness. Also, I can buy you some of that habanero cheese you love with my shipping savings, so there’s that.

I’ve so enjoyed living (comparatively) close to you these last couple of years, and never more so than now, with this crazy little person in our lives. I’m so glad you get to be a bigger part of the adventure, Aunt Stinkbat.

A neighbor down the street lent this to our family eons ago to entertain my sister and me. However, as very not normal and pretty much weakling/expendable children, it kinda entertained us but mostly gave fuel to fear the swamp behind the house.

Anyway, I’m definitely Mary.

I saw this most recently one Halloween in college, and it still gave me the creeps. As a result of this movie, I have always been a little bit afraid of Sarah Jessica Parker, and always hated every version of “You Put a Spell on Me.”

A bit belated: Shower #2.

Or: Lots of diapers, plenty of cake.

(And this time, I was disciplined enough not to eat myself ill.)

Well, you get the idea.

So crazy to think this time in two months, there’s going to be a tiny person in the universe with my DNA who can fit into this.

Oh and PS… unless you can stomach me gushing about my new nephew for the next few months, you might wanna go ahead and unfollow me.

Pip’s got the hookup.

Yesterday, went on a hasty trip to Brooklyn to see this girl and a certain fellow who J and I haven’t seen in a couple of years. Took a couple equally hasty pictures (none of the boys), ate a great deal, didn’t do much of anything but talk and waddle. The four of us have known each other at least ten years — and of course I’ve known Beca all her life and J’s known Trostle since they were kids.

It was the kind of impulsive, mildly irresponsible adventure I rarely embark on, especially now. But J and I kept chanting to each other, on the drive to New Haven and the train to Brooklyn, “We can’t do this next year, so we might as well do it now.”

We got home at quarter past 11, and woke up this morning with time for only the minimum of pre-Mass prep (honestly, below the minimum for me), and it was just totally worth it. To take a break from counting grams of protein. To sit on a fire escape with my little sister and talk about her nephew. To wander the neighborhood with a friend from high school.

Soon our lives will be very different. We should try to savor what we’ve got just now.

Two of my favorite people are just a few hours south, hanging out and having adventures and playing glasses games, and here I am trying to finish my coding homework.

I clearly am living wrong.

The only acceptable reason for becoming an artist of any kind is to get an entire audience of people to sing Ace of Base covers and like it.

oh. my. god.

YESSSSS

I will always reblog this.

Primarily for my sister, who will understand. Thanks for coming to see me, and enduring my frog feetsies.

O HAY, BONNIE.

My house is messy but my dog is cute.

(This blog is now just where I reblog my sister’s blog. Blog blog blog.)

I hate to use this medium, but I really have to ask everyone. I need a place to live for a month or two in New York starting April 1 or sooner. I’d prefer staying in Brooklyn near a subway stop. Please spread the Tumblr love and stick your antennae out for me, gang! I’d do it for you!

Here’s a picture of some bread I made once! (What a cool person to live with!)

I don’t think a picture has ever made me so happy

For no reason but my sister.
